Rafael Canogar (born May 17, 1935, in Toledo, Spain) is a foundational master of post-war Spanish contemporary art. Spanning over seven decades, his career is celebrated for bridging intense abstract expressionism with powerful narrative social realism. He is most globally renowned as a pioneer of the Informalist movement and as a key driver of Spain's mid-20th-century avant-garde.
Nocturno (2001): A later-career multi-layered graphic experiment composed of a two-color serigraph paired with collage on aluminum foil over foam board.
