Description
Albert Ràfols-Casamada "Ventana" 2000 signed limited edition serigraph on canvas, numbered from an edition of 75 and hand signed in pencil by the artist.
"Ventana" (Window) is a vibrant abstract composition built like an open window frame. A broad, brushy orange band runs across the top, with a soft lavender-gray column on the left and a raspberry-magenta column on the right crossed by a fine black zigzag. At the center, a pale yellow field holds a looping coral line drawing beside a tall brown bar and a thin black vertical line, all resting on a wide cobalt blue base marked with delicate dark line work, set on a generous cream border.
About the artist: Albert Ràfols-Casamada (1923–2009) was a Barcelona-born painter, poet and teacher and one of the leading figures of Catalan abstraction. His lyrical use of color and rhythmic, open brushwork earned him Spain's National Prize for Plastic Arts in 1980.
